‘Rosa Luxemburg or: The Price of Freedom’ by Jorn Schütrumpf (Berlin: Dietz Verlag, 2008) is available online for free, courtesy of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, Berlin.

It has been translated from German into English, Spanish and Turkish.

The 104 page book features a biographical sketch by the author, as well as extracts from people who knew her. It also includes previously untranslated work by Luxemburg: ‘In the Shelter’ about the poisoning of the homeless in Berlin, parts of her work on the Russian Revolution and her wonderful letters to Karl Liebknecht’s wife Sonja, written from prison during the First World War.
